Think about nice food? think about Alor Setar =]

today imma post something about FOOD!
well,
as my colleague from Penang called me and telling me that they will visit to alor setar,
so i start to do some survey about "nice food in alor setar"
unfortunately,
they PPK me! (PPK = Pang Pui Kee, put aeroplane, 放飞机）
don't even give me a call said they cancel the trip!
im wasted my time wait for whole day like a FOOL
dammit...
alright~!
thats not the purpose im writing this post!
seriously,
i found that alor setar really got a lot of nice food need to be "dig out"
hahaha!
i just don't understand why Penang will be listed as “gourmet paradise", but Alor Setar don't.
no offend please,
just speak out my mind.
i've been staying at Penang for 4 years...
study life and working life.
my best friends in Penang always bring me to the nice and famous food in Penang.
but for me,
Penang food is always expensive!
i mean the food in town.
Rm3.5 onward with a small portion.
apart from this,
due to Penang is a best tourist spot for the foreigner,
so it comes out a lot of the theme restaurant around the town.
for instance, (taiwanese, thai, japanese, indian, fast food and etc)
talk about taste,
maybe im from Alor Setar.
i already get used to the Alor Setar taste,
everything i eat in Penang,
i will make a compare with Alor Setar food...
is like "uhhh? the famous food in Penang? the famous tomyam? the famous fried Kuey Teow? the famous Hokkien Mee? the famous Curry Mee? the Famous Mee Rebus？ the Famous Laksa some more??? the famous blah blah blah" it taste normal for me... X.X
sorry again, i mean no offended.
but some of the food is really taste nice,
eg. Fried Kuey Teow from Siam Road! =D the ah Pek use charcoals to fried the Kuey Teow, normally other hawkers they use gas...Don't ask me about the Sister Fried Kuey Teow or the Jalan Selamat "Little Red Cap" i have no ideas with it! since my friends said it is expensive! Rm7 onwards without prawn or eggs inside?? possible? i really don't know.
another example, one of my favourite food in Penang, the Lorh Mee from Lintang Slim...
miahahaha! i love the way they cook the Lorh Mee, is so yummey!
some of the food is not like how the newspaper and magazines describe,
they are trying to hyperbole the taste of the food...
wah piang~! hahaha!
*somehow got the feeling of get cheated* xD
Sometimes, the funny part between my friends and me is
he/she is trying to bring us for the best food in town,
but when the moment we want to paid for our food,
“oh sh*t....you have shares in this hawker or restaurant? or is it manage by your lover's parent?"
the food is normal but the price is scary!
hahaha!
forget about it!
this is why i said Penang food is expensive.
(for Butterworth and Nibong Tebal price is normal...and a lot of yummey food! =D)

For me, what i remember the famous food in alor setar is:
- 桥下云吞面？*the wan tan mee under the bridge at Bee Bee Park, i just have it yesterday night...i don't know is it  wan tan mee or not, cause i'm always make confuse of wan tan mee, kuan lorh mee and kai see mee! xP )*
- Hokkien Mee beside Sentosa Plaza (miahahaha! im sure you have to use up to 5 minutes to find a seat as is so crowded in the early morning)
- For the Curry Mee, a lot of choices, as their Curry Mee taste totally different with each others (星洲咖里面，吉华校友会，& Baddlishah Curry Mee *i think is spell like this*)
- 油面 at Simpang Kuala Pasar Pagi *the hawker stalls opposite the Pasar Pagi* You can only found this in alor setar, so far i don't see Penang Lang sell this kind of Mee~
-Fried Indian Mee near Dai Guan Laksa (my sis in law all time favourite, she even ask the contact no. from the lou sai~ xD)
- Famous Dai Guan Laksa (honestly, the soup is nice, asam or lemak! both is superb! i Love mix soup the most...! haha! but for the noodle part...ewwh~ better choose the small size laksa noodle... so far, what i considered the best laksa noodle is the noodle Q and chewy....but almost all the laksa noodle is powdery..../.\
- Ice Kacang and Mix Fruit Ice located at the same place with Dai Guan Laksa! =D
- Tomyam from Fresh... (I never try this tomyam, this is recommended by my friends...xD)
- Koay Teow Soup (Zai Huat Koay Teow, Duck Koay Teow Soup opposite the 记得来点心, 二条路Koay Teow Soup)
- Curry Fish Head (No. 8 curry fish head) located at Jalan Lumpur? (im not so sure...sorry!)
- Chai Por Fish!!! ( oh my love!!!) 菜浦鱼 near Alor Setar Stadium, beside ASRC swimming pool. *must try! highly recommended*
- Roadside Pisang Goreng at Hijau Kuning (one of my favourite too) =P
- Ramli Nasi Kandar located at Simpang Empat !! <3
- Mang Kai Wan Tan Mee (sorry, i don't know where is the location, somewhere near Pekan Rabu)
- Rojak in front of the Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid

there is a lot of delicious food in Alor Setar,
just that currently i couldn't ring a bell which one is nicer ~! ah ha!
people from alor setar may leave a comment for me if i missed out the best food....
and i apologized if i can't provide the proper detail or photos of the food i recommended...
